Why Lenca?

Who are the Lencas?

The Lenca are the largest Indigenous group in Honduras, with a significant presence in El Salvador. They are a resilient people known for their deep spiritual connection to "Mother Earth" and their historic resistance against Spanish colonization, famously led by the chieftain Lempira.

Today, they are the primary guardians of the high-altitude cloud forests in southwestern Honduras, where they maintain their cultural heritage through traditional pottery, vibrant textiles, and the cultivation of world-class specialty coffee.
